And a Happy New Year!

It's that time of year where we all start the dreaded resolutions, no matter how many times I say I'm going to finish alll the UFO's or not start anything new until I've finished the last project etc etc it never lasts. Firstly around here in late Jan the fabric frolic starts and usually I'm trying to finish patterns and projects for the shops involved and so anything I'm working on gets pushed aside for them and of course presents of fabric or sewing bits from christmas get me started off in another direction, and then when the frolic is on all the shops have their specials on and well I do like to shop! So this year I'm going to try the one project a month approach, that is to totally finish one project each month, be it bjg or small a ufo or a new inspiration, lets see how that goes. Also I'm going to spend some more time in the garden as that makes me relax. Aaahhhh I can feel it working already!
I had a little walk around this morning with the camera so I could show you how the garden is growing but blogger wont let me upload them. Hmmmm I'll have to try again later.

enjoy!

Summer Weather

Ahh that wonderful Melbourne weather! Currently it's about 14 degrees here and I've had to light the fire again. This is the lovely summery veiw out my kitchen window, the clouds hanging over Mt Donna Buang.
You can find our local, very local weather by following the link to Britannia Creek Weather on the side, this is my hubby's live weather site. He's a bit of a weather nut! However with the cold and wet I can get a little sewing done without feeling too guilty of neglecting the garden.

Enjoy!

Weekend sewing

Over the weekend I got a little time to sew and finished the scarf I had been wanting to make from the previous post.
Very happy with this it turned out really nice, I even wore it out for the school council dinner tonight. Then I made up this pinafore for Tulley, it's a really cute pattern Mum bought for me a couple of weeks ago. It's Blossoms and Bloomers by Favorite little things designed by Kimberly Gladman. It is really quick to make up and really sweet, hopefully the weather will improve and I may even get a pic of her modelling it.

This is the back view and again it's been mysteriously turned around.

Enjoy

I found it!

Try this link bloomandblossom.blogspot.com it's a great tutorial with lots of pictures to follow.

Last minute table runner

It's nearly Christmas but I've got just enough time to sneak in a new table runner, just the binding left to sew down.
I don't know why but it sometimes rotates random photos, I didn't take it this way but you get the idea.
Today I had a little trip into Spotlight because Mum needed more supplies for the Christmas cards she is making and I spied some pretty summer voile, just right to make a summer scarf. I saw a quick tutorial while blog hopping the other night, unfortunately I hopped a fair way and can't find where I was but I think with a little trial and error I should be able to fudge it.

Enjoy!

Beautiful Meg!

Here's my beautiful Meg with her lil sis,
and here's Meg the rose
it's a really pretty climber with just a light perfume, it's planted right at my front gate. So nice to come home to. Unfortunately we have had so much rain these past few weeks it has ruined all my rose blooms just when they were looking their best. This photo was taken a few weeks ago when they first came out.

Enjoy!

Blissful Bounty Quilt

Well I still can't get the blog to recognise the correct time here, I don't really post at all times of the night. Anyway here's some pics of the completed quilt that I posted about earlier.

Babushka Quilt

Well the top is together, now I have to find something for the back. I like flannel for the backs of kids quilts, it makes them really snuggly.

and this is what Tulley was up to while I was posting this
remnants of a chocolate donut big brother gave her!

Enjoy!
